    butcher's shop and he was waiting outside the door for her. He would never go before on the road but would go behind her. As she walked up the road he always walked behind her. She arrived at her house at ten o clock in the night and he never came within three yards doors of the door but one night he looked in at the people.
    There were visitors in the house to go playing cards but when they heard about the story they did not play any more because they thought it was some evil spirit. The visitors went home at eleven o clock in the night and the dog followed them. The dog was to be seen every night from that night on the road from Ballindine to the bog road which is about half a mile from the town and he would never pass that road which leads to "Mellick" bog.
    He used to follow people as far as the bog road but would never go any farther than that spot. All the people of the village found out about the black "Ceallaigh Poit Dog" and were much afraid of him. They were afraid to pass the Ceallaigh Poit at night they thought that
