- There was once a man and his wife and they were sitting beside the fir one winter's night. At eight o clock at night a tinker woman went into the house. She asked them for the night's lodging and they gave it to her.
When she got up in the morning she said to them that they were happy but that they had no children. She said they would not have that to say that night twelve months. There were four children born to them twelve months after that.
Their names were Long Hands, Long Legs, Small eye and Hard Gums. They were living in Co. Mayo a half a mile away from loch Mask. One day a Gentleman was passing by the house. When he saw the four children(continues on next page) - Collector
