- There is one forge in the district known as Mahony's forge. It is owned by the Mahonys for over a century. Twas built by one David Mahony and when that old man retired he handed it over to his son David. He carried on the work then until he was up to sixty five years of age. Then he retired from work. His son John then had his time served. When the old man retired from work the son carried on the work for thirty five or forty years. Now John has retired and he has handed the forge to his son Maurice to carry on with the same work. The forge is built in a by-road known as the forge road. It is built about twenty yards from the public road and also the Mill stream runs by at the lower side of the road(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
