  1. Between Odorney and Causeway there is a holy well. It is called Weathers' well. It got its name because one day in the Penal times when a priest was saying Mass with a crowd of people round him the soldiers from Tralee (heard this and) came in search of the priest with blood hounds. The priest thought that they would be killed. Three weathers rose out of the ground and made off towards the sea. The hounds followed them. The priest and people made their escape but the soldiers found the rock and tied bullocks to it and they pulled it away, but at a height in the road the bullocks refused to pull it. They tied more and more to it but they could not pull it. They had to
