  1. People in this country usually get married between Little Christmas Day and Shrove Tuesday.
    In this county people consider Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays unlucky days to get married. Tuesdays Thursdays and Saturdays were the days country people married on and on those days they had a mid-day ceremony. The people invited to the wedding always accompanied the bride and bridegroom to the church. They were driven in carriages and side-cars, while some rode on horse-back. The marriage ceremony now over and as the party was returning home it was the custom to hold
