- In the year 1839 there was a very severe storm. This night is now known as the "night of the big wind". It did an amount of damage; it took slates of every house in the town and in the country, it knocked a share of old thatched houses and stalls and ricks of hay and haysheds.
In the year 1898 a big storm arose. It swept ricks of hay and two haysheds in our surroundings.
In the year 1935 a flash of lightning hit a stall in a man named Brassil and knocked the gable end of it.
A man named Patrick Kelly from Duagh was taking a bucket of water from a well when a flash came. He got a fright and ran in the shade of a bush when another flash came and(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
