- In the year 1903 a great storm arose and did much damage, it knocked trees and threw down houses. The night before the storm the sky was all ablaze of red light. In 1935 thunder and lightning raged all over our district, it killed many people.
A man was coming from work. He was struck by lightning and was killed. Another was coming from Listowel on a bicycle, the handlebars were struck by lightning and the man's clothes took fire and he was burned to death.
We had a very heavy fall of snow in 1915. Cattle and sheep were lost. It eas 3 feet deep and in more parts it was from eight to ten feet in height. It stopped the train. In 1935 we had desparate(continues on next page)- Collector
