Long ago, there lived in Carragh (Caherlistrane) a man named William Connor. One night as he was coming home after playing cards he heard the fairies singing in the lisín in Baile Nua. (A village near Carragh). Soon a fairy bull followed him, and he got very much afraid and commenced to run. He had a little dog with him, and the dog attacked the bull and kept him back. When he reached home he locked the door and did not mind the dog at all. He found him dead outside the door in the morning.

Long ago, a man was in the habit of staying out visiting very late, and this night as he was going home, a big cock jumped up on a wall and crew three times and disappeared. The man never went outside his door since.
