There was once a man living in Dublin and he got very poor. One day he made up his mind to ask Dan O Connell if he knew how he could make a living and he told him to cut off his big toe and bury it in a mountain a mile away and to go to a man who sold tobacco and bet with him for two thousand pounds that he hadn't a roll of tobacco from his big toe to his head. He did so and got the two thousand pounds
