- There was once a man working for a king. The king had a pair of asses ears. One day the young man saw the kings ears. The young man was put on his oath not to tell anyone about the king or he would be killed. He began getting very thin and his mother brought him to the doctor. The doctor said that he had a secret and he would be killed if he told anyone that secret. He told him to tell it to a tree in the wood. He went down on his knees near a big tree and he told it to the tree. Straight sticks grew up near the tree. The king was to be married. The servants went to the tree where the sticks grew. They cut the sticks and made flutes of them. The king was married. They started(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
