- I was comin' in from ramblin' wan night about forty yhears ago, an' I had to cross, over the fields, in through Curlisheen and there was a man in that townland lyin' sick, I was jusht crossin' the field ner his house, when I saw this little fite woman an' her thrippin' across the fields an' she walked just right pasht me, " Good night ma-am" seg I, but begorries she never answered me, I sthood up to look afther her, an she kep' on across the field, until she come to a gap an' she disappeared out through it. I sthruck into a neighbour's house, an' I up an tould fot I saw, H'm sey he poor is done, that was the banshee goin over to cry for him. An' he was right, the nexht mornin' when I went over that way, I heard that the man was dead.
