- Once a man in Curlisheen saw a ghost. He told the man he would appear to him at 6 o'clock the next evening. The man went to the priest and asked him what he should do. The priest have him a bottle of holy water and told him to make a ring in the floor and shake the holy water in it. If it were an evil spirit it would run and if it was not it would stay. The man did so and when the ghost came in he walked into the ring where the holy water was. Then both of them had a long chat. What troubled the man was that he owed a publican for some whisky and therefore he could not get into heaven. The other man paid for the whiskey. That night a voice told him that his friend was in heaven.
