  1. There are many old crafts in this district since long ago. These are some of them, lime making, whip making, basket making, thatching,
    glove making, and matt making.
    Some of these old crafts are in existance still and some of them are not. There was also another industry in this district long ago brick making.
    There was an old industry carried on in this district long ago lime making. This lime kiln was owned by Peter Brenan. The lime industry was started in this kiln in the year 1834 and it ended in the year 1894. The stones which the lime was made from was got on the strand. The people around the district and from other places bought this lime.
    There was another industry in this district long ago brick making. This place was owned by Brapsons. This was how the bricks were made. There was yellow clay got in a field where the bricks were made and this clay was made into squares and then it was baked. These bricks were sold to
