Ar an leathanach seo

  1. During a storm on the 11th of March 1937 a Danish Ship was blown ashore the Termonfeckin Strand. It got stuck on the sandy beach and all attempts failed to refloat her. She was a motor vessel of 700 tons. The name of the ship was the "Asnaes." She had eleven of a crew on board.
    The crew consisted of The Captain, Mate, Two Engineers, Cook, Cabin boy and four sailors. She was on her way from Ballina to Dublin for a cargo to bring back to Copenhagen.
    While she was travelling on the Irish Sea a snow storm arose and she had not time to anchor before she was driven ashore. The outside of the boat was painted black and red and her flag was red and white.
