Ar an leathanach seo

  1. The principal weeds on our land are crow's foot, chicken weed, foal's tail, red lash, black buttons, house leek, dandelions and thistles. All these weeds grow on bad land except dandelions and thistles which grow in good land.
    Crows' foot grows fairly high and destroys the stalks of the potatoes when they are beginning their growth.
    Chicken weed is injurious to mangolds and turnips because it grows very thickly around the stems of those crops and sometimes causes them to wither. Foal's tail is a bushy weed and it prevents hay from growing. Black buttons and thistles also grow in hay. House leek grows near houses. If it takes root and thrives on the roof of a house it is said that the owners of the house will be lucky for three generations. Long ago people gathered this leek. They poured boiling water over it and then any person that had asthma drank a glass of the liquid. Dandelions grow in meadows. If a person who had a running sore picked
