- "Epidemic"In 1885, two years after the death of Father Hickey the parish priest of Mullinahone there was a terrible outbreak of Typhoid Fever in Mullinahone and the surrounding district. Father Hickey was taken to his native Doon, Co. Limerick to be buried, and the people of Mullinahone blamed this for the fever. Since then every Parish Priest has been buried in Mullinahone.Mary Gleeson, Kilvemnon.
