  1. About twenty years ago a man named Michael Phelan, a native of Clonagoose, while cutting turf in the bog found the skeleton of a woman. The body was in a very good state of preservation, the nails and teeth being perfect. The woman - a travelling woman - had disappeared some years previous to the discovery. The remains were taken away for internment by the local police.
