- John Fox who lived in my grandfather's house in Kickham St. was known as a coachmaker, but he was a genius at lots of other trades. He planned and built Compsey Cottage and Bellvue House. He made the former Communion Rails in Mullinahone Church and retimbered the Altar and steps. He made and stuffed the cushions for his coaches, and made the irons and bolts for them in his forge. He bound the wheels and painted them. Once he made a set of tackling for a jennet.
