  1. In olden times the people usually partook of three meals. These were breakfast, dinner, and supper. The breakfast was usually taken at 8 a.m. This consisted either of oaten bread potatoes, milk, wheaten bread or stirabout.
The dinner which was taken about 1pm consisted of potatoes and milk.
The supper which was partaken about 6pm, consisted also of potatoes. Meat was rarely eaten except on Sundays and feast days.
