    About 80 yards from Lemonfield House lies the pier of a gate in the fence dividing the kitchen from the adjacent field.
    It is said that every year on the 1st of November a black dog is seen sitting on the pier and everyone that passed he followed them.
    There is a gap in the wall a short distance away, and it is said that a woman dressed in white garments was seen sitting there.
