  1. Marriages most frequently take place during Shrove especially on Shrove Tuesday.
It is considered unlucky to marry on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays and also during the month of May.
Wedding breakfast usually takes place in house of bride. There are no "Strawboys" in Co.Limerick or no wedding procession as "newly weds" go off on honeymoon.
It is also said that newly weds should not return to old home for at least a month.
This is how the match is introduced:- The parents of bride inquire as to prospects of prospective grooms as to ages appearance, family, history land and stock.
