  1. A Mr. Hurley. Dublin, Ex-Excise officer visited here 3 years ago and said Ballinveala castle was built by an O Hurley an ancestor of his. He maintained it was Killonahan castle, but as there is no trace of such a structure in Killonahan and in this townland ruins close to the castle there might be some foundation for his argument.
    Bettyville as well as Alston is only a local name.
