  1. Billy O Doherty lived in Lemonfield about 70 years ago. He grew up a handsome young boy till he was 18 years. He had a habit of staying out late card-playing and on his way home he had to pass a fort.
    One night as he was passing the fort on his return, he heard his name called three times. shaking with fear, he ran as fast as he could. It was so late when he entered the house that all had retired. He was terrible frightened, and hurried to bed, and the next morning he was unable to get up, as he was crippled and had to remain in bed for two years.
    When he got up, he was very small, and queer, and all the neighbours said "he was like a fairy" and they all dreaded him, because he used to go into the houses, and tell the people that they went
