    2.What used for afterwards
    Many customs follow the Brigid’s eve. It is the usual custom in this parish to hang a bit of butter in red baize or flannel outside the door and leave it there overnight.
    In the morning the butter is thrown away, and the cloth is preserved asa cure for a bleeding nose or headache.
