  1. There is only one Holy Well in the district, which is situated in an old graveyard in Columcille about a half a mile west of Thomastown.
    It is visited once a year on the patron day of St. Columcille. The priest also goes there and prayers are said where St. Columcille's church was built. People take home with them bottles of Holy water from the Holy Well, and some blessed clay from a niche in the wall. The local band attends and play
