- There is a fairy fort in Clochbrody near the County Home about a mile north of Thomastown.
It is circular in shape and surrounded by earth and trees. There are entrance holes in parts of the ditch leading to the interior of the rath. It has not been explored by anyone as the old people say one of your family would die if you interfered with the rath.
The fort is supposed to have been built by the Danes for fortifications when they first came to Ireland. But the old people believe that the fairies live there and it would be dangerous to walk on the circle.
