- About the year 1847 there lived a farmer named Mr. Gorey in Kilbline, he was looked upon as a very strong man. He always wasted his time gambling and very seldom looked after his farm.
Spring-time came and he had his land tilled but he had no oats to sow. At this time there lived a gentleman named Sir Richard Power in Kilfane. Mr. Goery planned to go to Sir Richard Power and ask him for some oats. He went to Sir Richard and told him his trouble.
