  1. In this parish one holy well is noted. It is in a shady part of Columcille Churchyard. People visit this well on the first Sunday in June. Prayers are recited by the priest and the people join in the responses.
    A story is told as to how a man tried to use the water for household purposes and was instantly struck with a horrible disease. He led the people to believe that it was a spell cast on him by Columcille. This incited their anger and planned
