  1. In this district cures are supposed to be attached to certian actions, such as to put a child under and over an ass is believed to cure whooping cough.
    To make a drink from dandelion is good for consumption.
    To place marsh Malice on a sprain is supposed to cure it.
    To wash worths in still water is a very common cure.
    Forge-water is a good cure for sore feet or chilblains.
    There is a man in this town who makes a special cure for biles, it consisted of goat's milk Carbolic soap and sugar.
    Donkey's milk is also used for whooping cough.
