Nuair atá duine ag dul a choladh san oidhche deireann sé:-
    “Ceithre phosta ar mo leaba,
    Ceithre aingle Mhic Dé,
Má fhághaim bás as seo go maidin
    I bhFlaitheas Dé a bhéas m’ainm bocht”.
Luighim le Dia, go luighidh Dia liom.
Lámh dheas de Dhia faoi mo chloigeann,
Agus dhá láimh Mhuire timcheall orm.
Tá crios na naoi n-Aingeal ó bhárr mo chloigeann go bun mo sháile.
Ná luighfidh mé le olc i’s ná luighfidh olc liom.
A Íosa, óir-chíste na gCriostuigh, déan trócaire orm.
A Íosa, uachtar na mbeatha, déan trócaire orainn.
Nuair a chuireann siad an chéad fata deireann siad:- “Go gcuiridh Dia toradh is tairbhe ar a gcuireamar i’s ar a nglacamar i’s a gabhamar thríd”.
Mo Dhia ghá tháráil, a’s go dtáraidh Dia muid, a’s go mbeirimíd beo ar an am seo arís.
Seacht roilig Phádraig a’s iomadh Chríost
Molfar thuas thú agus molfar thíos i’s molfar i Righ na Glóire
Agus molfar Dia go trócaireach ar ainmeacha na marbh.
