  1. There is a Mass rock in Maghera, Quin. It is a large oblong rock laid on four smaller rocks; here, Mass was said during the Penal times and priests were ordained.
    There is a Mass rock in Cullane where priests said Mass during the Penal days:
    There was a path leading to it from the road, but it is covered in by grass now.
    In Ballysheen there is the ruin of an old Church where priests said Mass in Penal Days. The priests hid themselves in a dry pond behind the church.
    Once a priest was saying Mass in the church, and the English soldiers came, he was taken away and executed in Dublin. It was ususal to have Mass in houses in week-days owing to the difficulty of hearing Mass on Sunday.
