  1. There was gold supposed to be hidden in the Slieve Barna mountains. Five or six people heard that so they resolved to go and dig for it. First they got a cat and cock for luck. They were digging until they heard a voice saying if you don't stop you'll come out in Tasmania, at that the men ran for their lives because they thought it was the Fairies.
