The Banner County Hurlers ,they steamed away to Thurles,
So seldom seen a finer lot of men,
'An' they passing every station there was woeful animation.
To see whether Clare or Cork was goin' to win .
The Banner County Hurlers when they reached the town of Thurles
Their shouts were to the sky.
And the final ultimatum was 'up with Clare and al'ear.
"We will bring the Munster Championship or die .
Then the final whistle sounded, and ball it was surrounded,,
And the hurlers gathered round it,like a dog would a hare.

And he gave the bunch of palm to Co Clare.
