    Butter-milk was usually distributed among neighbours.The butter is made when it is hard to turn the handle.Hot water is often poured in when it is hard to be made.The water helps to make it.
    When the butter is made a white linen cloth is placed over the top and the milk is separated from the butter,the milk is put into one basin and the butter into a tub.The butter is washed with pure spring water,two or three times to take the milk out of it.Then it is salted.The butter milk is used to make bread.

    Butter -milk used for baking bread ,pig feeding.It was believed that anyone that came in and did not help at the churning was regarded with suspicion and it was feared that the butter would not make,or that the amount be decreased.Churning takes between 20 to 25 minutes .About 50 years ago ,at Murphy's, Shadangan
