  1. One night about eleven o'clock my mother and my sister were standing at the door for a very long time, when all of a sudden my mother said to my sister, "Oh, what is that in the channel." It was just up beside them when they saw it. It was a little woman about three feet high and a hump on her back. She had long grey hair down to her knees. My mother and my sister jumped inside the door and bolted the door. They heard the step coming up to the door and then heard a knock at the door. But they didn't hear the step going away. It is the same little woman who walks from the corner of Ballymahon to the corner of Edgeworthstown about twelve miles away.
