    As I laid down my head to sleep,
    I gave my soul to God to keep,
    If any evil thing comes over me,
    Our Blessed Lady waken me,
    There are four corners on my bed,
    There are four angels overhead.
    Mathew, Mark, Luke and John,
    God bless me on the bed that I lie on,
    Lord be the branch, Lady be the flower,
    And the Lord Jesus be with me now and at my dying hour.
