  2. One night about twenty years ago, Pat No one, Pat Jennings, and Pat Higgins (John) (still living in Killamonagh) were bobbing in the Shrule river near Dalgan. The night came so wet, they had to take shelter in a shed that was near by. They were not long there when they heard a horse race going on, and they could hear the jocks whipping the horses the same as if they were looking at them. It was about one o'clock at night in Summer time. They were made very much afraid and they did not like to go there so late since.
