- Wells1. The old people have a lot of pisreóga about wells. They say that it is not right to go near a well late at night, or if you bring a bucket of water from it, they say it is right to get a wisp of straw and burn it in the fire and stick it down in the water before you drink it. 2. They also say that it is not right to close a well, as it would rise again in some other place, or some people say you would die shortly after.Mim Walsh 17/2/38
