  1. Long ago there was a man by the name of Thomas Burke living in the Shrule road. He was card playing in Mire Hill that night, and as he was coming home he jumped off a wall, and instead of coming on the ground, where he found himself, was on horse-back. The horse went away, and he could not come off. She brought him back again to the same place and his clothes were torn, and there was not a scratch on his own skin and he died next morning.
