  1. There are two forges in my district. One in Tibarney and the other in Mount Talbot. The owners of the forges are Tom Connolly and Frank Rourke. Their ancestors were not smiths. the forges are situated on the roadside. they have wooden roofs and the walls are of stone. they have plain doors. There is one fireplace in each forge.
The smiths shoe horses and asses. They make parts of ploughs, harrows, spades and shovels.
It is believed that the water that cools the irons in the forge can cure a toothache.
