    Marriages take place generally in
    Shrove time. Money is given as dowry.
    Marriages take place on Shrove Tuesday also. Stock and goods are also given as
    dowry. I do not remember marriages
    taking place in the houses.
    Straw boys visit the houses. The people
    given them plenty to eat and drink
    and they let them dance.
    They are not so plenty ad in
    the olden times.
