  1. Marriages mostly take place in Shrove and sometimes Shrove Tuesday. Matches are made in my district. Money is given as dowry. Goods are given as presents. There is wedding feast held in rides home.
    Straw boys visit the house. The people give them drink and food. They go into the barn and dance and sing and act very nice. The people do not know them because they have their faces covered and are dressed in old clothes with Straw belts. Some of them make themselves known,
