  1. Isar-Kern or Isal-Kern is supposed to be the third oldest graveyard in Ireland. Isal or Isar is a corruption of the word Diseart which means hermitage. As Mullinahone was formerly included in the diocese of Ossory Isar-Kern was probably a hermitage of St Kieran of Ossory.
