- It is said when the swallows are flying low that it is a sign of rain. And when they are flying high it is a sign of fine weather. When they are red stripes in the sky it is the sign of rain. If the Curlous comes into the land it is the sign of rain, When the sky is looking Black and very cold and the mountains blue it is the sign of snow. And if the robin comes in to the houses it is the sign of snow. When the goats comes home from the hills it is the sign of a thunderstorm. And when everyplace gets black is is said we would have a thunderstorm. And when the soot is falling it is a sign of rain. When the wind is in the North it brings frost and dry weather. When the sheep comes in to the foot[?] of a hill it is a sign of a wind storm, and when the smoke goes up straight it is the sign of fine weather. The West wind brings rain, When the East wind is in a bad point it brings snow,(continues on next page)
