  1. The well which I am going to write about is in the townland of Kilfeacle in the parish of Ballyadams. Ballyadams is in the barony of Slieve Margy which is in the county of Leix. This blessed well is known as Saint Patrick's well. It cures tooth ache and sore eyes The people say that Saint Patrick lost a tooth there when he sat down to rest. When the people visit this well they bless their eyes or teeth with water and when they are leaving the well they leave a beads or a piece of cloth at the side of the well. There are three trees growing around the well. About two years ago I had very sore eyes. I paid a visit to the well and blessed my eyes three times with the water. Each time I said one Hail Mary and four days after, my eyes
