  1. We have no churn at home but the one I am going to describe belongs to Jim Comerford of Glasna. It is an end - over - end churn. It is about two feet long and there is a stand for holding it. There is a handle for turning the churn in the frame. There is a glass in the lid and when the glass gets clear the churning is finished. When they want to take the butter milk from the butter they pull a little plug out of the side of the churn and the buttermilk flows into a crock. While the churning is going on water is poured in.
