  1. St Patrick's day. It was a custom for all little girls to wear Patrick's crosses. This cross was made from cardboard and it was covered with green ribbon and pinned to the little girl's left shoulder.
    All Soul's night It was the custom for the people to put down a good fire and leave chairs around the fire and a cup of water on the hob for the poor souls to sit and drink.
    St. Bridgid's night It was the custom for people to leave a mat made from hay outside the door for St Bridgid to kneel on.
    St. Martin's night It was an old custom to kill a chicken and bleed him inside the
