    Gareenmacha (gairdín mhara) is a field in the townland of Rylane.

    Gareenmacha (gairdín mhara) is a field in the townland of Rylane. In days gone by in very bad times an old travelling man died there and for years after there was a heap of stones collected on the spot where he died. Everybody who would cross would pick up a stone and throw it in and say some prayer "God rest his soul" or something like that. Some time afterwards there was an old beggar woman killed there by a cow.
