The man went and told the Priest and the priest told him to get a black dog and a black and white dog and he went and got the dog. They watched him this morning and they left the dog after him and he ran into a fort and they stood in the gap and he ran out through them and after a long time the black dog killed him.

“Some years ago the Parishes of Knocknagashel and Brosna were in one Parish.”
Some years ago the Parishes of Knocknagashel and Brosna were in one Parish. The Priest of this Parish lived in Brosna and he had to go to Knocknagashel every day and to come back again in the evening. This evening it happened that it was very late and as he and the driver were coming along the road a big black dog jumped out from inside the ditch and was trying to go into the car to bite them. Then the priest thought that he never said his Office that day and he took out his prayer book and started to read it and still the dog stayed at them until he had his Office finished and then disappeared. - Collector
