    Kind fortune did favour us with a sweet and pleasant gale,
    For nights and days we ploughed the seas
    No danger did we fear, until the Glengivney mountains before us did appear
    Our ship was heavily laden with tobacco and strong rum
    And our captain prayed to God to steer our ship
    Safe o'er the foam on to Inishowen Head.
